European optical giant EssilorLuxottica announced its third-quarter results, reporting revenue of €6.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%. The company explicitly stated that over 4 percentage points of this growth were directly attributable to the Ray-Ban smart glasses series developed in partnership with Meta, demonstrating that wearable devices have become a crucial engine for performance.

Financial reports indicate that Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses not only significantly boosted sales in the third quarter but also became the primary driver of growth in the North American market. The company’s CFO expressed being “quite optimistic” about the product’s performance in the fourth quarter, expecting it to continue driving business growth. He also revealed that the company is likely to achieve its target annual production capacity of 10 million units ahead of the original 2026 schedule.

Regarding industry prospects, the company believes glasses will gradually become the core platform for the next generation of personal computing devices, replacing most functions of smartphones. This perspective aligns closely with partner Meta’s views, as both parties agree that smart glasses can become all-day intelligent devices that understand user intent through deep integration of visual and auditory interactions.

The company anticipates that the wearable device ecosystem will not only generate direct revenue from hardware and lenses but also expand into artificial intelligence services in the long term, forming a sustainable multi-dimensional revenue structure.
